Assistant Superintendent
Location: Northern Virginia
Pay Target: ~$110,000
Overview
HITT Contracting is seeking a driven Assistant Superintendent to support large-scale construction projects in Northern Virginia. This role plays a critical part in field operations—coordinating daily activities, maintaining safety and quality standards, and ensuring work progresses on schedule. Experience in data center construction is highly valuable, but not required. Candidates with a strong background in ground-up or structural builds and proven on-site leadership are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Superintendent with day-to-day field management on complex, fast-paced projects
Coordinate subcontractors, trades, and site logistics to maintain productivity and workflow
Monitor safety, quality, and compliance with project plans, specifications, and standards
Assist with schedules, look-ahead plans, inspections, and documentation
Help resolve field issues and ensure work is executed efficiently and correctly
Foster teamwork, communication, and a positive jobsite culture
Qualifications
Experience supporting or leading field operations on large commercial projects
Strong understanding of structural builds, MEP coordination, and major construction sequencing
Data center exposure a plus, but not required
Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment
