Job Opportunity: AUTOCAD DRAWING EDITOR AND ARCHIVER

Location: Near Richmond International Airport

We are seeking a skilled AUTOCAD Drawing Editor and Archiver to join our team on a temporary basis. This position will report to the Electrical Engineer and play a crucial role in converting existing AUTOCAD engineering drawing files for entry into AUTODesk Vault Pro.

Job Purpose:

  • Convert existing AUTOCAD engineering drawing files to a format suitable for AUTODesk Vault Pro.
  • Standardize filename formats and print specifications for all drawing files.
  • Enable end users to locate specific drawings related to field work via online access to the Vault Pro database.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Become familiar with the company file system.
  • Edit and assign new filenames to CAD drawing files in AutoCAD 2025 according to company standards.
  • Insert and populate pre-defined attributed blocks in Model Space.
  • Edit title and revision blocks in each Layout, and apply .pdf print parameters.
  • Save edited drawing files with new filenames in designated folders and batch upload to Autodesk Vault Pro 2025.
  • Conduct quality checks and consult with the supervising engineer as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD product commands and block manipulation.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Vault basic or Vault Pro is preferred.
  • Ability to follow defined procedures carefully to avoid errors.
  • Clear communication skills for effective interaction with supervising engineer.
  • Graduation from a certified AutoCAD course and at least 2 years of experience as an AutoCAD draftsperson.

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time temporary position with a flexible schedule between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday to Friday, with potential weekend work. The candidate will work in our office located near the Richmond International Airport and will be provided with a personal computer with AutoCAD 2023 or 2025.

Physical Requirements:

Candidates must be physically able to work in an office setting for 7-8 hours per day.
