Job Description:

A leading upstream service provider is seeking an experienced and technically adept Solids Control Project Manager, preferably based in South Australia. Australian nationals or residents will be given priority due to operational and mobilization requirements. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing solids control systems on drilling projects, including the treatment of water-based mud (WBM), centrifuge performance, and cuttings management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end management of solids control operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant project execution.
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and personnel deployment plans tailored to site-specific conditions.
  • Coordinate with drilling supervisors and fluids engineers to enhance solids separation efficiency and reduce fluid loss.
  • Supervise setup, operation, and maintenance of key solids control equipment such as high-speed centrifuges and cuttings dryers.
  • Monitor WBM parameters and adjust systems for optimal performance and environmental compliance.
  • Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting, ensuring minimal non-productive time (NPT).
  • Prepare technical reports, performance summaries, and updates for internal and client stakeholders.
  • Stay informed on regulatory changes, emerging technologies, and best practices in solids control and waste minimization.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering, Petroleum Technology, or Environmental Science preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of solids control, drilling fluids, or waste management experience in field operations.
  • Expertise in centrifuge and cuttings dryer equipment, including troubleshooting and performance tuning.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage field teams and deliver on project targets.
  • Knowledge of Australian drilling regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
  • Proficient in technical documentation and data analysis.
  • Competence in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preference will be given to candidates with existing work rights in Australia. This role offers the opportunity to play a critical part in delivering efficient, sustainable solids control solutions across projects in South Australia and beyond.
