Role Overview
The Construction Site Manager is responsible for delivering high-quality on-site construction execution, ensuring projects meet client expectations, safety standards, and performance targets. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage large-scale solar construction activities from planning through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support to clients, ensuring a high standard of service and system performance
Oversee construction teams and ensure efficient daily site operations
Manage workflow and coordinate field activities to meet project timelines
Deliver daily/weekly reports on progress, performance, and any site issues
Interpret construction drawings and schematics (civil, structural, and electrical)
Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and industry standards
Lead, document, and report on safety meetings and compliance activities
Support project pre-planning, including:
Resource planning
Project sequencing
Material take-offs and requisitions
Subcontractor scope reviews
Maintain strong communication with project managers, engineers, and clients
Monitor construction schedules and track:
Progress
Deliveries
Installation challenges
Site activity
Coordinate with subcontractors, electricians, and site personnel on scheduling and quality control
Manage and support a large workforce (up to 300+ personnel including subcontractors)
Provide technical guidance on electrical and construction-related matters
Train teams on equipment use, maintenance, and site procedures
Key Requirements
Proven experience delivering turnkey construction projects
Strong background in utility-scale solar projects (essential)
Experience overseeing:
Civil works (foundations, piling)
Mechanical installation (mounting structures)
Electrical installation (preferred)
Ability to start quickly and operate independently on-site
Strong leadership and team management capabilities
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage projects on time and within budget
Willingness to travel and work on rotation
Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 5 years’ construction management experience
Strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems
Experience with heavy equipment:
Forklifts, reach forklifts, bobcats, scissor lifts
Proficiency with surveying/building tools:
Laser levels, transits
Good knowledge of construction mathematics
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Strong organisational and detail-oriented approach
Proven ability to maintain strong client relationships
Experience working safely and enforcing safe working practices
Previous solar industry experience highly desirable
Bulgarian language skills preferred (local candidates advantageous)
Work Rotation
Week 1: Monday–Friday on-site, weekend at accommodation
Week 2: Monday–Thursday on-site, Friday travel home, return Monday
Repeat rotation
