Senior Construction Contract Manager – Offshore Wind


Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract (March 2026 – December 2026)

Location: UK or Germany

Working Pattern: Monday–Friday (Full-Time)

Travel: Regular travel within Germany and Europe


Spencer Ogden is supporting a major international offshore wind development in the search for a Senior Construction Contract Manager to join the project during a critical delivery phase.


This role is focused on construction contract strategy, tendering, negotiation, and post-award contract management, ensuring project delivery is commercially protected and aligned with programme objectives.


The Role


Working closely with the Project Construction Manager and wider contract management team, you will lead the development and execution of construction contracting strategies across key offshore and associated onshore scopes.


You will play a critical role in safeguarding commercial position, managing risk, and ensuring contracts are executed effectively to support the successful delivery of a large-scale offshore wind project.


Key Responsibilities


Develop and implement construction contract strategies aligned with project and business objectives


Lead and support tendering processes, including preparation and issuance of tender documentation


Negotiate contract terms and conditions with suppliers and contractors


Oversee contract execution and administration throughout the project lifecycle


Manage contract variations, claims, and dispute resolution processes


Monitor contractor performance to ensure milestones, quality, cost, and schedule targets are achieved


Identify and mitigate contractual and commercial risks


Collaborate with construction, technical, operations, and project support teams


Maintain strong working relationships with contractors, suppliers, and joint venture partners


Provide regular reporting to senior stakeholders on contract performance


Drive continuous improvement in contract management processes and best practice


Candidate Profile

Essential


Degree-qualified in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, Civil, Naval Architecture) or a commercially focused discipline with strong technical understanding


Significant post-graduate experience in project, contract, and claims management


Proven track record delivering complex, multidisciplinary construction projects


Strong experience managing construction contracts within major infrastructure or energy projects


IT literate, with strong working knowledge of MS Office and project management systems


Flexible and willing to travel across Europe


Desirable


Experience within the offshore wind or wider offshore sector


Experience in the energy sector


Experience in onshore construction projects, particularly within Germany


Working Environment


Office-based / hybrid working model


Travel across Germany and Europe during development and delivery phases


IT equipment, laptop, and mobile phone provided


Offshore working is not expected as part of this role.
