Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Coring Engineer to join our Deepwater Operations team in Sarawak. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and analyzing coring operations in deepwater environments. This role requires a strong understanding of geology, drilling, and coring techniques, as well as the ability to work effectively in a challenging offshore environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and design coring programs for deepwater wells, including selecting appropriate coring tools and techniques.
- Supervise and coordinate coring operations on offshore drilling rigs, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Analyze core samples and data to provide insights into reservoir characteristics and geology.
- Collaborate with geologists, petrophysicists, and other team members to integrate coring data into geological models and reservoir evaluations.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on coring operations and findings for internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in coring technology and methods, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and data quality.
- Manage relationships with contractors and service providers to ensure high-quality coring services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in coring operations, preferably in deepwater environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of coring tools, techniques, and analysis methods.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with diverse groups.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Willingness to work offshore on rotation and in challenging conditions.
