Development Manager – Renewable Energy Projects

With a strong commitment to long-term value creation, our client strategically manages renewable energy projects—spanning solar, wind, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and power generation—with the goal of de-risking and optimising assets to support Australia’s low-emissions future.
As part of their continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Development Manager to lead energy development initiatives through the full lifecycle—from origination to financial close. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing multidisciplinary teams, stakeholder relationships, and project risks to ensure successful project outcomes.
Lead all project development workstreams including stakeholder engagement, planning approvals, land acquisition, HSE, grid connection, and commercial feasibility.
Manage budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, community members, government bodies, regulators, network operators, offtakers, equity partners, advisors, and financiers.
Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks throughout the development lifecycle.
Support the identification, due diligence, and acquisition of new energy development opportunities.
Collaborate with affiliated companies and internal stakeholders to align strategic development goals.
Tertiary qualifications in engineering, environmental science, finance, project management, commerce, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in managing complex energy projects from early-stage development through to financial close.
In-depth knowledge of the Australian energy sector, with specific experience in solar, wind, BESS, or power generation.
Strong leadership and organisational capabilities, with experience managing cross-functional teams.
Proven ability to develop strategic direction and solve complex problems.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
