Job Title: Deepwater Directional Driller

Reports To: Drilling Supervisor


Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Deepwater Directional Driller for our operations in the Gulf of Thailand. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing directional drilling expertise and guidance for fast drilling operations in the offshore basin, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to client specifications.


Key Responsibilities:

- Plan, execute, and manage directional drilling operations in environments within the Gulf of Thailand, specifically targeting the basin as per PTTEP requirements.

- Collaborate with the drilling team and geologists to design and optimize wellbore trajectories that meet exploration and production goals.

- Monitor real-time drilling parameters, make necessary adjustments, and provide recommendations to achieve fast and accurate drilling operations.

- Utilize advanced drilling technologies and tools to enhance directional drilling performance and minimize downtime.

- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements set by PTTEP and relevant authorities.

- Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise in case of downhole complications or equipment failures.

- Prepare and submit detailed reports on drilling progress, performance metrics, and any incidents or deviations from the plan.

- Conduct pre-job meetings and regularly communicate with the drilling supervisor, rig crew, and client representatives to ensure alignment on objectives and expectations.

- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in directional drilling and deepwater operations.


Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

- Minimum of 7 years of experience in directional drilling.

- Proven track record of successful directional drilling projects in the Gulf of Thailand or similar offshore basins.

- Strong technical knowledge of drilling equipment, downhole tools, and real-time monitoring systems.

- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and make quick, informed decisions.

- Certification in well control (IWCF or IADC) is preferred.
