Position: Lead Process Engineer

Overview
We are seeking a Lead Process Engineer to guide process design and technical execution for a major industrial-scale project in the energy and resources sector. This leadership position focuses on scaling emerging process technologies from concept through to full commercial operation.
The successful candidate will combine deep process design expertise with a hands-on, collaborative approach, bridging innovation and real-world delivery within complex, multidisciplinary project environments.
Key Responsibilities

Lead a small engineering team delivering complex process systems from early design to commissioning.

Develop and review process engineering documentation including PFDs, P&IDs, HMBs, data sheets, and process simulations.

Ensure technical integrity and compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Collaborate with internal and external engineering partners across all project phases.

Provide technical leadership during FEED, detailed design, procurement, construction, and start-up.

Support operational readiness, commissioning, and development of procedures and controls.

Lead or participate in design and safety reviews (e.g., HAZOP, HAZID, SIL).

Mentor and support less experienced engineers within a multidisciplinary environment.

Contribute to continuous improvement and optimisation initiatives across the project portfolio.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).

15+ years of process engineering experience within large-scale industrial or energy projects.

Minimum 5 years in a team leadership or lead process role.

Proven background in technology development, scale-up, or plant commissioning.

Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder interfaces and deliver high-quality engineering outcomes.

Strong communication and documentation skills.

Knowledge of process safety and control systems preferred.

Availability for regional and international travel as required.
