We are seeking an experienced Data Center Construction Manager to oversee all aspects of construction activities for new builds and capital projects. This role is responsible for project scope, quality, schedule, and budget from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have experience managing large, complex mission-critical projects, including strong vendor management and a track record of delivering high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee construction activities for new data center builds and capital improvement projects.
Interface with general contractors throughout bidding, award, execution, and closeout phases.
Track project schedules, communicate changes, manage client expectations, and negotiate time extensions when necessary.
Drive initiatives to increase resiliency of data center infrastructure.
Resolve scope issues with subcontractors and manage construction documentation (submittals, RFIs, change orders, invoicing).
Ensure quality control on all construction projects.
Record and report key construction metrics to internal stakeholders.
Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for equipment failures.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field — OR 5+ years of equivalent construction management experience.
5+ years managing large-scale MEP construction projects; data center experience preferred.
Strong background in general contractor and vendor management (RFPs, bidding, quality control, submittal tracking).
Ability to interpret specifications, drawings, and building codes (Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, OSHA).
Strong written/verbal communication and documentation skills.
Willingness to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in mission-critical environments.
Experience in the design or construction of data centers or large-scale MEP facilities.
Value engineering skills to reduce costs without impacting quality or reliability.
Familiarity with power management/monitoring systems.
Professional certifications (PE, LEED, CCM)
