Spencer Ogden is supporting a major HVDC project in Berlin and is seeking an experienced HVDC Project Engineer for a 12-month contract.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for equipment classification and item designation activities, working closely with GE Vernova engineering teams, EPC contractors, suppliers, and customers. The role combines engineering delivery and technical project coordination, ensuring alignment across requirements, schedules, and data standards.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute item designation and asset register work packages
Apply standards such as RDS-PP, NKS, and IEC Item Designation
Create and manage equipment/item registers (databases & Excel)
Ensure data quality, consistency, and traceability
Act as technical owner for system breakdown structures and asset registers
Coordinate technical interfaces with engineering teams, customers, and suppliers
Requirements
Experience with asset registers, system breakdown structures, and item designation in HVDC or complex power projects
Background across electrical systems (HV, LV, automation, or distribution)
Strong Excel and engineering database skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills
Languages:
English (mandatory)
German (fluent – customer-facing role)
