The Senior Manager Project Risk (and Chance) Management (m/f/d) drives the implementation and governance of the Risk Management framework across the Regional Area, ensuring alignment with corporate and business strategies. The role ensures project uncertainties are systematically identified, assessed, and managed, minimizing risk exposure while unlocking opportunities.
By enabling transparent reporting and fact-based insights, the role supports informed decision-making, governance compliance, and predictable outcomes across cost, schedule, quality, and execution.
Working closely with proposal and project delivery teams, the position combines analytical and technical expertise to deliver high-impact results and provide clear visibility to senior management. With strong cross-functional interaction, the role connects key stakeholders across all levels and contributes to overall business performance.

Drive end?to?end Risk & Opportunity Management across the project lifecycle, ensuring consistent application of corporate standards and enabling predictable project outcomes.
Shape bid-phase decisions by leading risk assessments (PIRA/TERA/TFU) and advising on go/no-go based on risk exposure and value potential.
Turn uncertainty into opportunity by proactively identifying, analyzing, and evaluating risks across technical, commercial, legal, schedule, and EHS dimensions.
Challenge project teams through independent reviews (on-site/remote), ensuring a transparent, forward-looking view on risk and project performance.
Apply robust qualitative and quantitative methodologies to create fact-based risk insights and eliminate bias in decision-making.
Strengthen accountability by driving clear risk ownership, actionable mitigation strategies, and disciplined tracking and escalation.
Enable full transparency through high-quality reporting (Risk Registers, MPR/GPR), giving leadership a true and unfiltered view of project exposure.
Act as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders, providing risk-based insights that support informed decisions and safeguard project success.
Show your expertise
Degree in Engineering, Natural Sciences, or a related field, ideally complemented by recognized certifications in Risk or Project Management (e.g. PMI?RMP®, APM, PRINCE2).
Broad understanding of EPC(M) project environments and construction lifecycles, including technical, commercial, legal, schedule, and EHS aspects.
Solid expertise in risk assessment methodologies (qualitative & quantitative) and the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
Strong commercial and financial acumen, including cost control, contract management (e.g. FIDIC/NEC), and risk exposure evaluation.
Proven experience in complex project environments, ideally in a Project Manager or senior functional leadership role.
Confident stakeholder management across all levels, with the ability to challenge constructively and influence decision-making.
Analytical, structured, and proactive mindset combined with excellent communication skills in an international, multicultural environment.
Fluent in English; German is a strong advantage; proficient in digital tools (e.g. MS Excel, PowerPoint) to drive transparency and performance.
