Sr Systems Studies Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY: We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Sr Systems Studies Engineer to independently perform and lead power systems engineering studies in areas such as electromagnetic transients, load flow, short-circuit, transient stability, control design, equipment applications, and other transmission and distribution (T&D) areas. The ideal candidate will develop proposals in response to customer specifications, RFP/RFQ, and technical information requests for power systems engineering analysis and represent our company as an industry leader in power systems consulting and studies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Independently conduct various studies for T&D equipment using specialized software like PSSE, TARA, ATP, EMTP, PSCAD, MATLAB, etc.
  • Independently manage and lead projects ensuring completion within specified schedules and budgets.
  • Develop and land business opportunities towards achieving division objectives.
  • Independently prepare, present, and support technical reports and presentations to internal and external customers.
  • Represent the company as an industry leader in grid planning, interconnection, operations, and equipment application.
  • Independently lead studies initiatives for other divisions/departments within the company.

EDUCATION/SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

  • Engineering degree: BSEE, MS/ME, or PhD in electrical engineering with a minimum of 7 years of experience in power systems studies consulting or equivalent.
  • Advanced knowledge of electric power systems, equipment operation, and control.
  • Advanced organizational, interpersonal, presentation, communication, and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change within a fast-paced business environment.
  • Expertise in various software and modeling tools such as ATP, EMTP, MATLAB, PSLF, CYME, and others.
  • Advanced knowledge of industry standards and guides (NESC, NERC, IEEE, IEC, and CIGRE).

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead business development efforts through technical presentations and customer interactions.
  • Update group brochures and personal biography as required.
  • Lead regular group meetings and sessions to optimize workflow and productivity.
