The Senior Associate, Interconnection Engineering will primarily be responsible for the creation of Interconnection
Applications to various utilities, building relationships with external engineering firms, establishing scopes of work to
engage 3rd party Engineering firms in creation of engineering drawings/documents, approving application requests via
utility specific portals and/or via email, reviewing distribution engineering study reports from utilities, tracking project
statuses, meet internally and externally with decision-making stakeholders, provide deadline reminders to move
projects towards executed Interconnection Agreements. This position plays a pivotal role in the department through
development activities across all distribution connected projects. The candidate will be responsible for completing the
work either directly, through internal or external resources.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
? Create application documentation.
? Responsible for the timely submission of interconnection applications, and ongoing status updates.
? Maintain knowledge of utility design standards and interconnection processes to proactively address issues as
they arise through the interconnection process.
? Ensure all interconnection equipment line-ups are appropriate for each utility, communicated to design
engineers and integrated into application submissions.
? Instruct external engineering resources as necessary.
? Review utility study results (pre-application and feasibility/scoping studies) and evaluate the merit of these
impacts, where applicable challenge study results to ensure interconnection study results and associated costs
are appropriate.
? Coordinate and lead external review calls with Utilities.
? Advise the Development team on system impact costs and provide guidance as required.

EDUCATION:
? Undergraduate (BS) Degree in Engineering or Sciences
? Registration as an Engineer In-Training (EIT) or qualified as a Project Management Professional (PMP)
? Driver’s License.
EXPERIENCE:
? A minimum of 2 years of experience in Distributed Generation
? A minimum of 1 year of experience creating or reviewing technical drawings/documents.
? Strong ability to plan, track and manage the development activities of interconnection applications.
? Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment.
? Analytical and mathematical mind, capable of evaluating and solving various problems.
? Strong knowledge of Microsoft office suite, Smartsheet, Adobe.
? Knowledge of various Utility application portals (PowerClerk, Connect the Grid, and others).
? Capable to interact effectively across organizational boundaries to achieve goals and meet deadlines.
? Ability to integrate both verbal and written communications with interpersonal skills.
? Interpersonal skills necessary to work within a cross functional team.
? Ability to represent the company well.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position is a hybrid office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWECE office and field locations. The
employee must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time.
