Sr Project engineer controls manager

A leading mission-critical infrastructure firm is seeking a MEP Project Controls Engineer to support high-complexity mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) projects responsible for managing project document control processes and coordinating Owner-Furnished Contractor-Installed Equipment (OFCI).


This is a dynamic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring project documentation integrity, equipment readiness, and seamless coordination across a range of stakeholders including contractors, vendors, and the client’s team.


 Responsibilities

Project Controls & Documentation

Oversee the organization, accuracy, and compliance of all project-related documents: drawings, specs, contracts, RFIs, permits, and change orders.


Manage and maintain document control systems, ensuring proper versioning and tracking.


Support project scheduling efforts (Primavera P6, MS Project), helping keep timelines aligned with deliverables.


Assist in cost tracking and budget reporting to project leadership.


Produce regular documentation status reports and support audit readiness.


OFCI Equipment Coordination

Track and manage all Owner-Furnished equipment from procurement through to contractor installation.


Ensure timely delivery of equipment in line with the project schedule and technical specifications.


Serve as the key point of contact between vendors, suppliers, and project teams.


Manage documentation related to OFCI including purchase orders, technical datasheets, and installation protocols.


Identify and mitigate risks related to equipment logistics and integration.


Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.


3+ years of experience in project controls, document management, or equipment coordination on large-scale construction projects.


Strong familiarity with MEP systems, ideally in the data center or mission-critical sector.


Technical Expertise

Proficient in document management platforms such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), SharePoint, etc.


Skilled in scheduling tools and Microsoft Office Suite.


Working knowledge of equipment submittals, procurement processes, and field installation coordination.


Soft Skills

High attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Strong communication and collaboration skills to interface with both field and corporate teams.


Analytical thinking and proactive problem-solving mindset.
