Supplier Quality Engineer

SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER

Location: Lincoln, UK (3 days in office p/week) | Industry: Energy/Engineering | Job Type: Full-Time 12-month contract

As a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) specializing in blades and vanes for our Small Gas Turbine (SGT) business, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving quality performance across our supply chain. Each day brings opportunities to collaborate with global suppliers, address complex quality challenges, and contribute to critical process improvements.

You’ll manage non-conformances, lead root cause investigations, and support continuous improvement using industry-standard tools like 8D, RCA, and 5 Whys. Internally, you’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to uphold world-class quality standards—while externally, you’ll build strong, productive relationships with key suppliers around the world.

This is a dynamic role within a multicultural, international environment, where excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Supplier Collaboration & Issue Resolution

Partner with suppliers to address process and product issues, lead containment efforts, and drive resolution of non-conformances.

Performance Oversight & Continuous Improvement

Monitor supplier quality metrics, lead corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), and support quality improvement initiatives to reduce risk and improve reliability.

Data Analysis & Reporting

Analyse quality data for trends, contribute to key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide insights and risk assessments to stakeholders.

Product & Process Qualification

Support Product and Process Qualification (PPQ) efforts, ensuring supplier alignment with internal quality management processes and standards.

What You Bring

Engineering Expertise

A solid background in Engineering, R&D, or manufacturing (degree or time-served). You’re a self-starter with hands-on experience resolving supplier quality issues from identification through resolution.

Technical Skills

Knowledge of inspection techniques, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and experience with machining, casting, or coating of turbine blades/vanes is highly advantageous. Strong IT/data analysis skills, particularly in Excel.

Quality & Risk Management

Proficiency with quality tools and methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, FMEA, RCA), risk assessment, and quality systems such as ISO 9001. Experience with supplier quality management and auditing processes.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage at all business levels. Cultural awareness and experience working in global, cross-functional teams are essential.

Professionalism & Flexibility

You bring a positive attitude, structured work habits, and a willingness to travel when required.
