A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Supplier Quality Manufacturing Engineer, your day will be filled with engaging interactions with suppliers, analyzing data, and driving continuous improvement. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality standards are met, while fostering strong relationships with our valued suppliers.
How You'll Make an Impact
• Lead Product Qualification Activities at Suppliers – Product and Process Qualifications (PPQs)
• Contain, manage and resolve Quality issues relating to supplier non-conforming components identified at Aero-Derivative Gas Turbine (AGT) assembly facilities, warehouses or customers globally.
• Manage suppliers to properly handle non-conformance issues.
• Assist with process improvements.
• Lead supplier root cause investigations and corrective actions through Problem Resolution process.
• Investigate and resolve manufacturing capability issues within the supply chain to ensure business continuity.
• Identify and support cost reduction opportunities through interaction with the Supply Chain/Strategic Business
• Audit existing and potential suppliers to determine capability of manufacturing and ensure quality systems are in place.
• Develop supplier capability to meet current and future requirements
• Interact with customer-facing businesses to investigate potential product non-conformances
• Product manufacturing development and improvement via regular in person presence at supplier sites
What You Bring
Required:
• Technical training or further education in quality, mechanical, or electrical engineering
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (e.g. ISO9001), Supplier Quality Management (SQM) and Quality Control routines.
• Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of drawing interpretation (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
• Demonstrated ability to work with design engineering organization to ensure parts are manufacturable.
• Proven ability to manage multi-problem investigations simultaneously.
• Self-motivated attitude and ownership of projects
• Ability to project manage Product and Process Qualifications and unexpected Supplier Quality Issues from beginning to end.
• Knowledge of inspection methodologies and assessment of inspection capability.
• Experience working with or at manufacturing facilities
• Experience working with critical parts. (Complex parts such as disc, shaft, complex assemblies)
Preferred:
• Proven track record of application of Quality improvement processes and tools (e.g. 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa)
• SAP experience.
Working requirements:
• In office presence – 3 days min per week
• No legal travel regulations
• Travel to suppliers up to 50%
