**BESS Project Development Manager**

**What we’re looking for**

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and self-motivated individual to join our German team as a Project Development Manager for BESS!

**What you’ll be doing**

You will be a key member of the German Development Team, responsible for completing development on an existing pipeline of projects, originating new solar PV and battery storage projects, and managing them through to Ready-to-Build.

This position can be fully remote and applications are welcome from qualified candidates in the Berlin and Stuttgart regions.

You will work with local consultants and collaborate remotely with colleagues in other time zones and countries. The German market is a key focus, with strong potential for team growth and career progression.

**Key responsibilities include:**

* Working closely with the central site-finding team and local Head of Development to direct land searches

* Landowner outreach and contract negotiation

* Engagement with grid operators to identify and apply for grid connections

* Proactive engagement with local communities to support permitting processes

* Managing local planning offices for permitting applications

* Overseeing site surveys and project design work

* Communicating progress with international teams

* Supporting project sales processes, RFPs, and securing off-take when required

* Staying up to date with relevant regulations and policies affecting the renewable energy market

**What experience you’ll need**

* Native-level German

* Proven track record of developing renewable energy or real estate projects in Germany

* Knowledge of German permitting procedures

* Self-motivated and proactive, able to manage your own time effectively

* Excellent teamwork and communication skills, including remote collaboration

* Strong problem-solving abilities with creative approaches to challenges

* Highly organised with strong attention to detail

* Experience managing third-party contractors to deliver on time and on budget

* Advanced English skills (written and spoken)

* Ability to travel within a dedicated region of Germany to meet landowners and liaise with local authorities

* Ability to travel internationally on occasion

* Right to live and work in Germany

* Driving licence and a home office setup

**Desirable (but not essential):**

* Experience negotiating land lease or purchase agreements

* Experience applying for grid connections and managing negotiations with grid operators

**Where you’ll be working**

This is a home-based role located anywhere in Germany, with regional travel and occasional visits to international offices.
