The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
Market Strategy & Intelligence
• Conduct comprehensive market research on South Korea's evolving green hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol sectors
• Analyze government policies, competitive landscape, and industry trends to identify commercial opportunities
• Translate Korea's clean energy transition roadmap into concrete business strategies
Commercial Excellence
• Formulate and execute market entry strategies for green hydrogen/ammonia/methanol products
• Drive adoption of clean energy solutions across target industrial sectors
• Develop innovative commercial models tailored to Korean market requirements
• Lead end-to-end deal processes from prospecting through contract execution
Relationship & Partnership Development
• Establish and grow commercial relationships with key stakeholders in Korea's hydrogen ecosystem
• Negotiate long-term supply agreements and strategic partnerships
• Build strong relationships with major Korean conglomerates and industrial gas companies
• Leverage Incheon and Busan strategic ports for marine fuel opportunities (green ammonia)
Revenue Generation
• Achieve ambitious revenue targets in Korea's $3 billion industrial gas market
• Identify and capitalize on opportunities in Korea's expanding hydrogen refueling infrastructure (200+ stations by 2025)
• Develop partnerships with key players across the hydrogen value chain
Ideal Candidate Profile
Essential Experience
• 8-12 years in business development/commercial roles within renewable energy, industrial gases, or chemical trading
• Proven track record in Korean market with deep understanding of local business culture
• Experience with green hydrogen, ammonia, or methanol trading/commercial activities
• Strong background in B2B sales with large industrial customers
Technical & Market Knowledge
• Deep understanding of Korea's clean energy transition roadmap and hydrogen economy policies
• Knowledge of green hydrogen production, storage, and transportation technologies
• Familiarity with industrial gas market dynamics and pricing mechanisms
• Understanding of marine fuel markets and port operations (Incheon/Busan advantage)
Commercial Skills
• Exceptional negotiation and contract management capabilities
• Ability to structure complex, multi-year supply agreements
• Experience with risk management in commodity trading environments
• Strong financial acumen and P&L responsibility experience
Leadership & Cultural Fit
• Proven ability to build and lead high-performing commercial teams
• Strong relationship-building skills with C-level executives
• Cultural sensitivity and deep Korean market knowledge
• Fluency in Korean and English; Mandarin advantageous given global operations
