Commissioning Manager – Data Center (Colocation)

Role Overview

As Commissioning Manager, you will lead the planning, execution, and close?out of all commissioning activities across our colocation data?center portfolio in Georgia. You’ll ensure that critical infrastructure systems meet design intent, performance requirements, and industry standards before handover to operations.


Key Responsibilities

Develop Commissioning Strategy: Create comprehensive commissioning plans, procedures, and checklists for electrical, mechanical, and building?management systems (BMS).


Lead FAT/SAT: Oversee Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs), coordinate vendor factory checks, and validate equipment performance on?site.


Manage Test Execution: Direct field commissioning teams and subcontractors through functional performance tests, load bank testing, and system interconnectivity verification.


Issue Tracking & Resolution: Log defects, non?conformances, and punch?list items; drive corrective?action workflows to ensure timely closure.


Documentation & Reporting: Prepare commissioning reports, O&M manuals, turnover binders, and as?built drawings for client handover.


Cross?Functional Coordination: Collaborate with Owners, EPC contractors, design engineers, and operations to align commissioning schedules with construction milestones.


Quality Assurance: Enforce compliance with client specifications, TIA?942, NFPA 75/99, ASHRAE, NEC, and local building codes.


Training & Handover: Conduct operational training for facilities and maintenance teams; support early?operations readiness.


Required Qualifications

Experience:


7+ years in commissioning management, project engineering, or commissioning engineering for data centers/colocation facilities.


Technical Expertise:


Proven track record with electrical (UPS, switchgear, generators) and mechanical systems (CRAC/CRAH, chillers, pumps).


Familiarity with BMS platforms and automated control sequences.


Certifications (preferred):


Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP) or equivalent.


NICET Level II+ or PMP.


Soft Skills:


Strong leadership and team?management abilities.


Excellent problem?solving, communication, and documentation skills.


Detail?oriented with a focus on quality and safety.


Travel & Location:


Based in Georgia; ability to travel to remote sites within the state.
