Customer Applications Engineer

The Customer Applications Specialist role involves supporting the delivery, development and implementation of

the Networks’ renewable generation connection processes.


The primary focus of the role is to manage, track and process renewable generator applications for customers.

Ongoing interaction with customers and key stakeholders including management and resolution of

customer/stakeholders issues is also required on a daily basis. 


As a key member of the team bringing forward suggestions and supporting the development of systems, and development of the long-term enduring processes are also key responsibilities of this role.


An interest and awareness of developments in the area of renewable generator regulations and how they apply to

Networks will be important in order to engage with customers and support the successful implementation of

generator connection and charging policy for such users of the electricity distribution system.


Key Responsibilities

• Process and manage high volumes of renewable generator applications from initial application to final

connection to the electricity system

• Work with and support the team processing and managing high volumes of customer applications

• Interact with and manage customers and key stakeholders

• Proactively deal with all relevant generator queries within and outside own business area

• Work with the team to ensure the relevant pages on the Networks website to ensure the information

is accurate and consistent

• Participate on cross business team projects to support ongoing development work

• Implement generator connection policy and regulations as they apply to Networks

• Develop and build relationships with other internal teams to achieve a best practice end to end Generator

Connection process

• Develop reports on the status of projects connecting to the distribution system and on the generator

connection offer process.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

• Experience dealing directly and professionally with customers and stakeholders

• Proven ability to work with key relevant IT systems such as Microsoft Office Systems (Word, Excel,

Sharepoint)

• Proven ability to deliver a high volume of work on time and with a high level of accuracy

• Experience delivering high quality results in a fast moving environment

• Strong proven communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills

• Ability to work independently to solve issues and develop processes

• Proven ability to work with a team and provide guidance and support to team members and the wider

business.

• Awareness of key technical elements of the electricity system and sufficient awareness of renewable

generator technologies to be able to liaise with customers and technical support teams and resolve issues


Desirable

• Knowledge and experience dealing with renewable generator installations or connections would be

beneficial

• Experience dealing with electricity industry stakeholders

• Experience working with SAP systems


Qualifications

Essential

3rd Level qualification or equivalent work experience


Base Location

Dublin 18

The successful candidate may combine remote working with attendance at base for in-person collaboration, the

frequency of which is agreed with the manager and subject to ongoing review.


Please note that when the successful candidate is required to attend offices, travel, accommodation, and related expenses will not be reimbursed.


Expenses incurred for business travel - that are not normally incurred by the successful candidate in their normal

place of work - will be reimbursed.

The successful candidate must have use of a personal ‘phone, laptop/PC and internet facilities, and must be

equipped to fully engage in a professional manner during the course of the engagement.
