Role Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Manager to join our team in Malaysia. Reporting to the Head of Finance (FP&A) with a dotted line to the Country Head, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the exciting development of renewable energy projects across Southeast Asia. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential. You will be a trusted business partner and a valued member of the Finance team, working collaboratively with stakeholders to optimize efficiency and promote a positive experience.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Act as the Finance business partner for the Country Head and project delivery organization, serving as the primary interface for all financial matters.
  • Deliver monthly management and project reporting in partnership with the FP&A function, ensuring timely and accurate information throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support business planning by providing financial analysis and modeling, continuously improving FP&A data models using advanced Microsoft Excel and other tools.
  • Drive the annual budgeting process by collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to collect, challenge, and consolidate budget inputs.
  • Monitor and review organizational expenditures against plans, manage P&L performance, and track business KPIs.
  • Oversee project controlling and financial operations, including capital and liquidity management at the project level, building banking relationships, and ensuring compliance with project finance terms and conditions.
  • Prepare, review, and report on project budgets, actuals, and forecasts, including FX risk management and hedge contracts as needed.
  • Lead buy-side and sell-side transaction advisory engagements, including financial and tax due diligence, and provide high-quality analytical and commercial insights.
  • Establish strong relationships with clients, target company management, and third-party advisors throughout transaction processes.
  • Support annual audits, implement accounting, tax, and structuring due diligence advice, and ensure continued compliance with finance risk and controls.
  • Assist with AP and AR processes as required and collaborate effectively across a lean finance team and cross-functional business units.
  • Bring a pleasant, approachable, and hands-on attitude to the role, with a solutions-oriented and outcomes-focused mindset.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, business, or a related field.
  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CA, CPA) with over 8 years’ experience, preferably with a track record in global accounting firms and detailed knowledge of financial due diligence and M&A processes.
  • Experience with project accounting/controlling for infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to distill complex information for diverse stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with a change-driven mindset, capable of identifying risks and opportunities and implementing recommendations effectively.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office Suite (Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Conversational ability in Mandarin and Japanese is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with IFRS and the ability to apply technical accounting and tax advice.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships across organizational boundaries.

What We Offer
