Job Title: Work Authorisation – Permit to Work Officer

Location: Hinkley Point C (HPC) Site

Reporting To: HPC Permit Office Manager

Job Purpose / Overview:

To issue, cancel, and suspend Work Authorisations and Construction Permits to Work through the P2W system. The role ensures safe coordination of construction activities across the HPC site.

Working Context:

• HPC is a highly regulated and complex construction environment.

• NNB GenCo is the principal contractor.

• The Permit Officer will interface closely with Tier 1 and 2 contractors and other stakeholders to maintain control over work activities.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Verify and process work authorisation requests and associated documentation (RAMS).

• Issue permits in a timely and coordinated manner.

• Engage with Construction, Safety, and Technical teams.

• Conduct assurance and compliance monitoring on site.

• Report non-compliances and good practices.

• Contribute to performance/KPI reports.

• Support procedure updates and communication flows.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Essential:

• Deep knowledge of CDM Regulations (2015) and UK HSE legislation.

• Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.

• Independent and proactive working style.

• Experience working in a Permit to Work (PTW) environment (e.g. power stations, refineries).

• Mechanical or Electrical background.

• IOSH certification.

• Construction/multi-discipline interface experience.

Desirable:

• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.

• Mechanical/electrical industry best practice knowledge.
