Excellent opportunity for a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join a major infrastructure programme within the utilities sector.
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation in the energy and utilities sector, seeking a Quantity Surveyor with strong procurement and contract management experience to support a nationwide capital works programme.
This hybrid role offers a dynamic and collaborative working environment focused on best-value procurement, regulatory compliance, and sustainable project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage end-to-end tendering processes for EPC, Civil, and Electrical works.
Develop and implement procurement strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Prepare and manage tender documentation, contracts, and framework agreements.
Ensure full compliance with public procurement regulations and internal procedures.
Support legal and insurance functions with contractual and bonding requirements.
Build strong working relationships with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams.
Provide guidance on procurement best practices and commercial issues.
Requirements
Essential:
5+ years’ experience in procurement or contract/commercial management of construction projects.
Level 8 Degree in Quantity Surveying.
Expertise in drafting and managing contracts for civil engineering or utility projects.
Working knowledge of public procurement rules (EU/Ireland).
Strong communication, commercial awareness, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Valid Safe Pass, manual handling training, and full Irish/EU driver’s licence with access to a car.
Desirable:
Familiarity with FIDIC contracts.
Experience using eTenders, SAP, and SharePoint.
ASCSI/MRICS qualification (registered under the Building Control Act 2007).
Advanced Excel skills.
Additional Information
Hybrid working: Predominantly remote with 1 day per week onsite at a designated office location.
Occasional travel to other sites or offices may be required.
Appropriate PPE will be provided (excluding safety boots, gloves, and eye protection).
Candidates must have access to a phone, laptop/PC, and stable internet connection for remote work.
Approved business travel expenses reimbursed (normal commuting excluded).
