A small, Chicago-based engineering firm is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer / Transportation Manager to lead their Phase I and II transportation engineering design projects. The Transportation Manager will oversee a group of senior civil engineers, mid-level designers, and drafters to accomplish a wide range of projects including roadways, traffic engineering, sewer, utilities, and site work.This role is HYBRID, meaning you must work out of the downtown Chicago office minimum 2 days per week.The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and self-directed with a background in roadway design and project management. Mid-Level Civil Engineer - TransportationLocation: Downtown ChicagoWork Schedule: Hybrid (minimum 2 days in-office per week).Ideal candidate is someone early in their career with approx. 2+ years of civil engineering experience and does not require substantial training to be productive. We are currently not able to accept new graduates at this time. This role requires conventional aspects of civil engineering and roadway design and will work under the supervision of a senior civil engineer. Design tasks will include a variety of topics: roadway geometrics and pavements, cross sections, MOT, grading, storm sewer, ADA ramps, and traffic signals.A qualified candidate will demonstrate responsible care and judgement while performing most tasks, assignments and designs independently.
