Commissioning Director

We are looking for a Hyperscale experienced Senior Commissioning Manager for a Data Center role. The individual will be a key liaison between construction, engineering, and operations teams ensuring that data center buildouts are executed to the highest standards of performance and reliability.

This role requires deep expertise in commissioning, construction oversight, and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) systems particularly within mission-critical environments. Candidates must have experience in reviewing design packages, coordinating testing procedures, and driving quality assurance across all phases of data center infrastructure delivery.

This is a hybrid role, with up to 50% travel required, and will involve significant collaboration across internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead commissioning activities with safety and quality as top priorities.

Act as owner’s representative during construction and commissioning phases.

Oversee design intent implementation and ensure proper equipment installation and testing.

Review and interpret construction and engineering documentation.

Facilitate coordination among general contractors, engineering consultants, and vendors.

Manage project timelines, budgets, and documentation.

Support the development and enforcement of commissioning and QA/QC protocols.

Conduct field inspections and attend job-site meetings.

Coordinate commissioning scheduling with overall project milestones.

Prepare and review test plans, specifications, and final reports.

Support integration of IT systems during controls commissioning.

Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing and final project handovers.

Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and commissioning outcomes.

Qualifications & Requirements:

10+ years of experience in commissioning and MEP systems within data centers or similar critical infrastructure.

In-depth knowledge of electrical systems (generators, UPS, power distribution), HVAC/cooling systems (chillers, CDU’s), and redundancy protocols.

Familiarity with design standards and regulatory codes (NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ASHRAE).

Strong communication and documentation skills.

Experience working with BMS/EPMS and commissioning tools is highly desirable.

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Effective in managing competing priorities and timelines.

Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate with various stakeholders.

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 50% as needed.
