Director, Strategic Value and Business Advisory

Spencer Ogden is partnering with a leading technology organization seeking a senior strategic leader to join as Director, Strategic Value and Business Advisory. This role will work at the intersection of strategy, sales, and technology, partnering closely with go to market teams and senior leadership to articulate and deliver measurable economic value to enterprise clients.


Position Overview

You will engage directly with C-suite executives to craft compelling value narratives, build robust business cases, and link advanced technology solutions to measurable business outcomes. This role requires exceptional strategic thinking, financial acumen, and the ability to translate complex technical capabilities into clear executive language that drives decision making.


Core Responsibilities


Value Driven Business Case Development

You will partner with go to market teams to develop and deliver value driven business cases that demonstrate ROI and strategic impact of solutions. Your work will directly influence enterprise sales cycles and client investment decisions.


C-Suite Executive Engagement

You will lead high level conversations with C-suite executives and senior stakeholders on business performance, transformation, and value realization. Your ability to command the room and influence executive decision makers will be critical to success.


Value Storytelling and Impact Articulation

You will craft clear and compelling value stories that link solutions to P&L impact, operational efficiencies, and long term business outcomes. Your narratives will translate technical capabilities into business language that resonates with financial decision makers.


Client Facing Value Architecture

You will lead value architecture engagements including diagnostic assessments, financial modeling, and business impact analysis. You will quantify value across multiple dimensions including revenue growth, cost reduction, risk mitigation, and competitive positioning.


Strategic Collaboration and Insight Integration

You will collaborate with product and strategy teams to align client insights with product development roadmaps and long term strategic planning. Your client facing experience will inform internal innovation priorities.


Strategic Initiative Leadership

You will support strategic initiatives including market positioning, thought leadership development, and deal shaping for high value opportunities. You will contribute to the strategic direction of the organization through client derived insights.


Team Leadership and Mentorship

You will oversee and mentor teams in delivering high quality value assessments and strategic analyses. You will build capability within the organization to scale value engineering across multiple markets and client segments.


Required Qualifications


  • Experience: 12 plus years in strategy consulting or value engineering roles within leading technology companies such as SAP, Salesforce, Palantir, or similar enterprise software organizations
  • Consulting Background: Strong foundation in management consulting from top tier firms including McKinsey, BCG, Bain, or equivalent, with demonstrated exposure to technology driven business transformation
  • Executive Presence: Proven track record in client facing roles with ability to independently engage and influence C-level executives across diverse industries and geographies
  • Financial and Analytical Expertise: Deep expertise in financial analysis, business performance management, and articulating economic value tied to P&L impact, with ability to build sophisticated financial models
  • Value Engineering Track Record: Demonstrated experience in value engineering, value advisory, or strategy planning roles linking product solutions to measurable outcomes and defendable ROI calculations
  • Communication and Storytelling: Strong storytelling skills with ability to simplify complex concepts into impactful client narratives that drive executive action and investment decisions
  • Operational Agility: Ability to thrive in fast paced environments and manage multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously while maintaining quality and attention to detail
  • Language: Fluency in Mandarin Chinese preferred to support engagement with regional stakeholders across Asia Pacific markets
