Role Overview

The Electrical Engineer will support the Electrical Engineering and Construction teams in delivering data centre projects. This role focuses on technical documentation, drawing review, coordination, and ensuring compliance with design and construction requirements.


Key Responsibilities


Technical & Documentation Support

- Prepare, update, and maintain electrical engineering documents, including single-line diagrams, schedules, load lists, and design reports.

- Review contractor submissions (shop drawings, material specs, method statements) and coordinate comments with the senior engineering team.

- Assist in preparing tender documentation, technical evaluations, and comparison summaries.

- Support the creation and updating of project tracking logs (RFI, submittals, testing checklists).


Project Coordination

- Coordinate with MEP, CSA, and vendor teams to ensure design consistency and resolve documentation gaps.

- Attend coordination meetings and maintain minutes, action logs, and follow-up trackers.

- Monitor site progress related to electrical installation and identify discrepancies for escalation.


Site & Testing Support

- Support inspection of electrical works (cable routing, panels, switchgear, UPS, gensets, grounding systems).

- Assist in FAT/SAT documentation preparation and verification.

- Assist senior engineers during testing and commissioning phases, including data recording and reporting.


Quality & Compliance

- Ensure documentation meets industry standards and project requirements.

- Assist in tracking compliance with local regulations and DC electrical standards.


Qualifications & Requirements

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

- 2-3 years of experience in construction, M&E consultancy, or data centre/mission-critical projects preferred.

- Strong technical documentation and drawing interpretation skills (AutoCAD; BIM exposure is a plus).

- Good understanding of basic electrical systems (LV distribution, UPS, gensets, grounding).

- Strong coordination, communication, and organisational skills.
