Role Overview

The Mechanical Engineer supports the mechanical and MEP teams in delivering high-quality data centre projects. This role focuses on documentation support, technical coordination, and ensuring accurate tracking of design and installation progress.


Key Responsibilities


Technical & Documentation Support

- Prepare, update, and maintain mechanical engineering documents, including equipment schedules, P&IDs, chilled water schematics, and technical datasheets.

- Review contractor mechanical submissions (shop drawings, material specs, method statements) and consolidate comments from the senior engineering team.

- Support in preparing tender documents, comparison sheets, and engineering presentations.

- Maintain and update mechanical engineering trackers, logs, and document registers.


Project Coordination

- Coordinate with CSA, electrical, and vendor teams to ensure alignment of mechanical systems and space planning.

- Participate in coordination meetings and issue minutes, action plans, and follow-ups.

- Track site progress for mechanical works such as chilled water piping, HVAC, containment, and fire suppression systems.


Site & Testing Support

- Support mechanical inspections for quality control (ducting, piping, supports, equipment placement).

- Assist in FAT/SAT documentation and verification for chillers, pumps, CRAH/CRAC, and other mechanical systems.

- Assist in testing and commissioning activities by collecting measurements and recording test data.


Quality & Compliance

- Ensure documentation and design deliverables meet DC standards and regulatory requirements.

- Support coordination on safety, quality, and installation standards.


Qualifications & Requirements

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

- 2-3 years of experience in construction, MEP consultancy, HVAC, or data centre/mission-critical environments preferred.

- Strong understanding of mechanical systems (CHW, HVAC, pumps, piping, ventilation).

- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings; exposure to CAD/BIM is an advantage.

- Strong coordination, documentation, and analytical skills.
