Job Summary

Primoris Power Solutions is seeking an experienced On-Site Quality Manager for a high-voltage substation construction project in Roscoe, TX. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity, offering hands-on leadership of QA/QC activities. The ideal candidate will oversee all quality assurance and control processes, ensuring full compliance with project specifications and industry standards throughout the project lifecycle.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP) in line with client and industry requirements (e.g., IEEE, IEC, ISO 9001)
  • Supervise on-site quality control inspections, testing, and audits.
  • Ensure compliance of all materials, equipment, and workmanship to project specs.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to proactively resolve quality issues.
  • Lead internal audits and manage third-party inspections.
  • Maintain detailed quality records, including inspection and non-conformance reports.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Train and support field staff on quality standards and procedures.
  • Interface directly with client quality reps and participate in review meetings.
  • Track and report quality KPIs and foster continuous improvement efforts.
 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of quality management experience, including 3+ years on HV substation projects (69kV and above).
  • Strong working knowledge of QA/QC standards, construction codes, and substation components.
  • Familiarity with NESC, NEC, IEEE, and ISO 9001.
  • Proficient in MS Office, document control, and quality software.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
