Project Manager – Building Efficiency | Nashville, TN

Job Description: 

An experienced Project Manager is needed to lead a facility upgrade project for the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) based in Nashville, TN. This role will focus on building efficiency improvements, including a full lab refurbishment, HVAC controls upgrades, and LED lighting retrofits.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of building efficiency upgrades across TDOT facilities.

Manage scope of work related to HVAC controls, LED lighting retrofits, and other energy conservation measures (ECMs).

Coordinate with engineering teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure work is completed on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.

Ensure project compliance with safety regulations and performance standards throughout all phases of construction.

Lead on-site meetings, site inspections, and progress tracking.

Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, documentation, and status reports.

Work closely with the client and internal stakeholders to manage expectations and provide regular updates.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing building efficiency or energy retrofit projects.

Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, lighting systems, and general building infrastructure.

Experience managing public sector or government facility projects preferred.

Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Primavera).

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Local travel to job sites as required.
