Planning Project Manager


The Planning Project Manager will report to the Head of Planning and will project manage the numerous planning aspects of 30 + projects of onshore wind, solar and BESS, including appointing of planning consultants and environmental consultants, management of consultants including quality control of EIAs and planning applications, tracking that consultants are on time delivering milestones etc.

Responsibilities:

Manage EIA and ER planning applications and ensure quality control of all documentation.

Manage all consultants involved in planning applications including ecology, engineering, hydrology, geology, archaeology, noise and LVIA.

Provide support to team in assessing early stage projects from a planning perspective, identify optimum path forward on projects from a planning and environmental

Work within the budget set out for EIAs, request and evaluate proposals from consultants to ensure they are inclusive and are value for money

Skills/Competencies:

Experienced in reviewing EIAs and planning applications

Knowledge of Irish Planning law and policies

Computer skills – Office, Excel, Windows, Outlook, Powerpoint etc.

Excellent & detailed record keeping, report writing and problem-solving skills

Very good interpersonal skills

Must be able to drive and have access to a car for occasional site visits

Ability to work from home with the necessary equipment such as: Good Broadband, Office space with desk and chair set-up – private space to take work calls on Microsoft Teams, Skype or Zoom.

Qualifications and Experience:

An undergraduate degree (minimum Level 7) in Planning or town planning.

Experience in development and renewable projects would be a benefit.

4-5 years planning experience in development or local authority
