Summary:

We are currently seeking four experienced Solid Control Engineers to join our team in Queensland, focusing on drilling fluids and water-based mud systems for shallow coal seam gas wells. This position is crucial for ensuring efficient and effective operations following a recent restructuring aimed at enhancing regional client management. The ideal candidate will be a local talent who can navigate regulatory challenges and integrate seamlessly into our operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and oversee the management of drilling fluid systems and solid control equipment.
  • Collaborate with the drilling team to optimize mud systems according to geological conditions.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of fluid systems to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting solutions during drilling operations.
  • Prepare reports and documentation related to drilling fluid operations and performance metrics.
  • Train and mentor junior staff on best practices and safety protocols related to drilling fluids.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in solid control and drilling fluids within the oil and gas industry.
  • Proven expertise in water-based mud systems; experience with synthetic mud is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of local regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
