Electric Transmission (ET) Transmission Line Standards department is seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer to support the Company’s evolving transmission grid. The primary responsibilities for this role include the design and development of underground line standards and special applications for ET capital and O&M projects. This is an exciting time to join our team as we are involved in industry-leading projects and initiatives like interconnecting 5000 MW of solar generation in the next 5 years, the first utility-owned offshore wind project in United States federal waters off the Atlantic coast, and the largest data center load growth in the world.
• Perform engineering work activities and projects to develop, maintain, and support system-wide standards for underground transmission line applications.
• Provide expert technical support to other groups for the application of standard designs.
• Ensure the proper utilization of standard designs.
• Identify root causes for deviations of standard practices and develop/recommend improvements to existing standards to improve utilization.
• Evaluate and recommend new products, applications, and methods considering all stakeholder input to maintain or improve safety, reliability, and efficiency.
• Participate in various industry organizations to stay current with best practices.

Specific Responsbilities: To work closely connected both with the project development teams in Ireland and Germany· Interacting with grid regulation authorities and grid operators in their role as project stakeholders.· Providing input for Pre-feasibility studies and technical risk assessment.· Developing and optimising grid connection solutions for wind, solar and energy storage projects.· Seeking alternative network access solutions based on grid studies, including technical, legal and commercial evaluations.· Representing the client on industry grid policy committees / working groups, applying learnings from these forums and providing regulatory advice to the strategic aims of the company in both jurisdictions.· Preparing grid applications and managing the grid application process.· Supporting project tendering and acquisition processes by creating technical documents and checking documents issued by others. To work closely connected both with the project execution teams in Dublin and Wiesbaden offices· Preparing requests for quotation for engineering, construction, procurement and testing of the electrical balance of plant for renewable and / or sustainable energy projects.· Creating, checking and or reviewing technical documents according to our company wide workflow procedure.· Preparing inspection and test plans and supervising construction work.· Controlling electrical project construction costs and project variations.· Carrying out tasks / projects assigned by the Electrical Department in Germany and other ad hoc projects as required by the Director of the Dublin office.

One of our leading EPC Clients is looking to hire a Civil Engineer with a 2-5 years experience. This is an Engineering position responsible for supporting Engineering Services and EPC project management support for high voltage substation foundation and structural design. You will have an active role in helping develop substation design processes, standards, and custom designs for foundations and steel structures for all EPC and Engineering Services projects.Responsibilities are as follows: Review equipment specification/data sheets for foundation and steel design.Technically evaluate vendor proposals for major equipment for foundation and steel design.Proficient knowledge of various substation designs to correspond to physical design standards.Implement design standards for various structures and foundations.Develop steel and foundation designs to Client standardsDevelop engineering expertise to evaluate GeoTech Reports and Soil Reports.Support pre-bid meetings and documentation by evaluating GeoTech Reports.Implement GeoTech Report data into engineering and design processes. Develop and maintain a system for evaluating design quality control and metrics for long term management of design group (internal or external).Provide proper documentation for project drawings and other project documentation.Provide detailed steel and foundation drawings with proper bills of material.Review steel and foundation detail drawings for design accuracy and quality control.Working knowledge of design software such as MFAD, STAAD, PLS-Pole, ACAD Inventor, and other comparable design software.Develop skills to write technical documentation for steel and foundation calculations.
