Role: Director of Engineering - Data Centers Design
Location: Dallas Texas
We are seeking a highly accomplished Director of Design Engineering to lead the planning, design, and delivery of cutting-edge data center projects. This leadership role will oversee multidisciplinary engineering teams, drive technical excellence, and ensure projects meet capacity, performance, sustainability, and scalability goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design strategy and delivery for large-scale colocation and hyperscale data centers
Manage in-house and external engineering resources across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural disciplines.
Oversee the full design lifecycle from concept through construction ensuring alignment with operational and client requirements.
Collaborate with development, construction, and operations teams to optimize designs for cost efficiency, reliability, and future expansion.
Champion innovative design approaches, energy efficiency, and sustainability initiatives.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, vendors, and consultants.
Qualifications:
15+ years of progressive engineering and design leadership experience, with at least 5 years in senior roles managing large data center portfolios.
Proven track record in delivering multi-megawatt hyperscale and colocation projects in North America.
Deep technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems for mission-critical environments.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor high-performing teams and influence at the executive level.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline; PE license preferred.
