Are you passionate about accelerating Australia's transition to renewable energy? We are seeking a forward-thinking and inquisitive Energy Market Analyst to join our dynamic team, based in either Sydney or Melbourne.

As an Energy Market Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our energy portfolio and the broader energy transition in Australia. Reporting to the Director of Energy Markets and Analytics, you'll help develop analytical products and forecasts, inform strategy, and contribute to investment and development decisions within a rapidly evolving sector.

About the Role

• Build, maintain, and run Plexos models to support development and investment decisions.
• Develop models and conduct data analytics using platforms such as Python, R, SQL, and Power BI.
• Analyse market dynamics to forecast commercial impacts and inform business strategy.
• Collaborate with the energy markets, investment, and development teams to assess new technology opportunities, including hydrogen and electrification.
• Contribute to the development of our future energy market view and deliver insights that support investment decisions and the creation of a renewable energy portfolio.
• Help build a robust data and modelling ecosystem to enhance analytical capabilities across the business.

About You

• Minimum of three years’ industry experience in an energy markets or analytics role.
• Strong background in data analytics or data science, with a genuine love of data and a desire to learn.
• Proficiency in coding languages such as Python and R, and experience with data analytics tools like SQL or Power BI.
• Ability to tackle complex market challenges within a broader commercial and investment context.
• Experience with energy market forecasting platforms such as Plexos is highly regarded, but a willingness to learn is even more important.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present analytical insights and engage with senior stakeholders.
• Eligibility to work in Australia is required (visa sponsorship is not available).
