Spencer Ogden is supporting a major offshore energy project and is seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join an engineering team delivering offshore site characterisation and jack-up installation support.
This is a high-impact contract role suited to a senior professional with strong offshore geotechnical expertise and the ability to work across multiple workstreams in a fast-paced project environment.
The role will cover both traditional offshore site characterisation and support to jack-up activities, including:
Reviewing leg penetration and spudcan–quay wall interaction analyses produced by consultants
Reviewing leg penetration analyses and vessel suitability assessments
Delivering high-level jack-up installation assessments using established in-house tools and methodologies
Supporting the scoping, planning and execution of offshore geotechnical site investigations and laboratory testing
Analysing and interpreting large geotechnical datasets to produce high-quality site characterisations
Deriving engineering soil and rock parameters to support foundation, cable design and installation assessments
Supporting engineering assessments related to jack-up installations
Contributing to wider offshore wind farm site characterisation and related engineering activities
Undertaking other tasks aligned with senior geotechnical competencies as required
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Proven experience in offshore site characterisation and analysis of in situ and laboratory geotechnical data
In-depth experience planning, scoping and executing offshore geotechnical site investigations
Strong experience with Leg Penetration Analyses and engineering assessments for jack-up installations
Proven capability in processing and validating geotechnical data, including AGS data handling
Extensive experience producing Geotechnical Interpretation Reports (GIRs)
A solid understanding of geotechnical inputs to foundation and cable design, installation constraints, and engineering interfaces
Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills
The ability to manage multiple tasks in parallel with a high level of personal responsibility and accountability
A results-oriented mindset
Fluency in written and spoken English
Primary working location is London, with hybrid flexibility by agreement
The role is offered on a contract basis with potential for extension
You will work within established quality assurance procedures and digital engineering platforms
