SUMMARY 

The Director of Engineering is responsible for leading the technical development, implementation, and engineering execution of various renewable projects within the EPC team (especially PV & BESS), and is responsible for both the management and development of overall engineering team.  

This position reports to the VP of Engineering or another senior management personnel that the VP of Engineering may designate.  

This position is open to fully remote candidates or candidates located in Irvine, CA. Working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm or 9:00am to 6:00pm.  This position may be expected to travel at least 25%.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead all stages of project design and engineering, including conceptual and advanced system design, observing regulatory codes, customer requirements, balance of systems, site visits, permitting and technical support during construction phase; 
    • In collaboration with other team members, contribute to the completeness to design and deliver PV, BESS, and other renewable projects; 
    • Lead the technical tasks in preparation of proposals, projects, and the review of potential project/supplier acquisition opportunities; 
    • Report on the planning and technical design, and present it to the Vice President of Engineering; 
    • Work in a team to develop and improve the system standards; 
    • Work closely with the team to define company processes and metrics, and plan and allocate resources across existing programs to ensure strategic alignment and needed technical trainings; 
    • Build a quality culture of continuous improvement that enhances company efficiency and engineering quality; 
    • Drive a safety culture that embraces both a "Responsibility to act" and "Show by Example" approach; 
    • Supervising compliance with company - project specific standards; 
    • Supervising compliance with the requirements of the company's quality management system; 
    • Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned.

     

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another related engineering science, with the working knowledge within several fields of engineering; 
    • Minimum of 10 years of professional engineering experience in the Solar / BESS industry; 
    • Minimum of 5 years of management experience leading a team; 
    • Extensive technical experiences on photovoltaic and energy storage projects; 
    • Experience with photovoltaic performance modeling tools (preferably PVSyst); 
    • Knowledge of PV/BESS/etc. plant design and optimization; 
    • Knowledge of the National Electric Code and various Standard Industry Codes; 
    • Willingness to travel, at least 25% of the time; 
    • Ability to motivate and develop others; 
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Through thoughtful planning and execution, our client is known for its performance, flexibility, transparency, and risk mitigation. Position Summary Our client is seeking a Financial Analyst to play a crucial role in evaluating the financial and technical aspects of clean energy business opportunities. This individual will support our client's ongoing commercial efforts to grow through greenfield development and acquisitions.Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Financial Analyst will assist in identifying and pursuing new revenue opportunities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Essential Duties/Responsibilities Analyze technical and financial information to produce forecasts of business, industry, and economic conditionsAssist in creating and maintaining financial models to evaluate project economics, conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis, and perform economic evaluations to compare optionsMonitor and quantify project performance and conduct "look-back" analysesProvide due diligence assistance and financial modeling for infrastructure acquisitions and greenfield projectsAssist in the budgeting and forecasting processPrepare presentations for the board of directors and potential clientsCultivate and maintain strong business relationships with potential hydrogen, ammonia, and CCUS customer representatives to ensure market awareness and develop marketing opportunitiesAssist in the development of contracts, operating agreements, and other legal documentsStay informed on clean energy, green and renewable industry, political, and regulatory developments through researchCollaborate with other departments and service groups to develop project proposalsCoordinate with engineering to develop, populate, and issue project status reports and commercial reports Supervisory Duties Not applicable at this time.Job Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or related fieldsMaster's degree in Finance, MBA, and/or CPA preferred but not required3+ years of professional experience in financial analysis, economic modeling, greenfield development, and/or acquisitions and divestituresStrategic thinker with knowledge of emerging energy markets and midstream infrastructure for potential use in emerging energy logisticsFamiliarity with US pipeline systems and storage in relation to implementation and development opportunitiesStrong understanding of oil and gas pricing, methodology, transportation, and logisticsExcellent analytical skills with the ability to process information from various sources, derive key insights, and develop well-structured communicationsSelf-motivated with a track record of successfully taking initiative, working independently, and collaborating effectively within a teamStrong sense of urgency and ability to work within tight deadlines in a fast-paced environmentAbility to effectively manage competing demands while delivering excellent customer serviceSolid organizational skills with acute attention to detailStrong written, verbal, and presentation skills as an effective communicatorHigh proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and experience with relational databases such as MS Access, QuickBase, etc.

It aims to help facilitate the energy transition demands of the UK and EU by developing and investing in large-scale solar and battery storage projects. The successful candidate will be joining a team comprising of individuals with a proven track record in infrastructure investment, renewables spheres and innovation. Following our partners recent investment announcement and planned growth, I'm looking to speak with Business Development professionals looking for an exciting and rewarding opportunity. You will be responsible for the continued origination and acquisition of UK renewable energy and storage projects, as well as playing a leading role in diversification into emerging technologies and overseas markets. The role will see you managing a team of field based and office-based staff, committed to the origination of projects for the development team to deliver into operations. This role requires an ambitious, self-motivated person with a passion for business growth and project development. Extroverted and entrepreneurial, you will have the agility and drive to create opportunities both here in our core business as well as in new ways and places. Key Responsibilities Oversee and manage the UK origination team in the identification and onboarding of utility-scale solar PV and storage projects via our in-house GIS platform, wider market links, traditional site-finding activity or acquisitions.Ensure business case for prospects is clearly understood and met in bringing opportunities to the business. Drive and optimise each prospect with respect to design, grid, planning, land etc., through financial analysis and modelling of each project.Provide knowledge and support to the team, including the identification and assessment of new opportunities.Site origination, energy yield analysis, project viability, grid connections, land agreement negotiations, commercial agreements, project design, planning process etc.Take responsibility for exploring, building, and managing an origination team in selected new markets.Take a leading role in the commercial negotiations during the project acquisition process. This includes taking responsibility for liaising with any advisors and the execution of the transaction documentation with support from the wider team.  Qualifications, experience and attributes Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline.Experience, ideally coming from an energy background 8+ years’ experience working in a relevant industry.Proven background in developing an international pipeline of quality projects through land acquisition and into development.Strong commercial knowledge and a proven ability in risk management and relevant negotiations. Ability to solve complex problems and have the ability to engage, lead and motivate a team.
