 The ideal candidate for Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible to lead the planning, execution, monitoring and control of the maintenance of assets; in line with the Company's key business goal.

  1. Provide daily technical support to rigs under remit
  2. Assist with technical downtime issues
  3. Liaise with OEM's as required
  4. Travel offshore to assist in technical problem solving and troubleshooting as required
  5. Assist with technical audit function in relation to maintenance and technical procedures
  6. Assist with PM development as required
  7. Assist with annual budget preparation
  8. Assist with offshore minor projects and rig modifications
  9. Assist rigs in follow up to ensure compliance with Technical MOC procedure
  10. Assist with follow up on onshore equipment repairs as required
  11. Assist with client related technical issues
  12. Carry out rig familiarisation visits
  13. Assist with Project Engineers when required
  14. Assist HOD with the design and implementation of troubleshooting guides
  15. Participate in duty phone roster system for technical issues outside office hours
  16. Be familiar with all systems, directives and procedures and actively participate in the implementation
  17. Be familiar with all rig mechanical systems and controls fleet wide
  18. Be prepared to travel worldwide at short notice when required
  19. Lead safety by example for all employees to follow
  20. Promote safety awareness and safe work practice among all the personnel
  21. Report all hazards and positively intervene in all observed unsafe acts
  22. Participate in emergency drills, including post-drill debriefs

  Candidate should fulfil the following:

  1. Preferably a degree in Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Mechanical and minimum 5 years' experience in technical support and or project engineering
  2. Familiar with computerised control systems
  3. Experience on /with Offshore Drill Rigs and Rig equipment and Troubleshooting
  4. Sound knowledge of rotating equipment
  5. Sound knowledge of hydraulic controls and systems
  6. Trained in Mechanical trade or engineering degree
