Facility Manager, Data Centre Operations

Our client is a data centre operator expanding its campus infrastructure across the APAC region. They are hiring a Facility Manager to support construction delivery and take ownership of critical operations once the facility goes live.


The Role

You will start by supporting the Project and Construction team through the build phase of a new data centre campus. This includes HT consumer landing station construction, M&E systems installation, defect inspections, and witness testing and commissioning.

Once the facility is operational, you will shift into a Critical Operations Manager role. You will lead day-to-day operations, drive 100% uptime, and manage the site engineering team.


What You Will Do


Critical Systems and Infrastructure

  • Serve as SME across critical electrical and mechanical systems
  • Manage HT switchgear, UPS, DC battery systems, PDUs, HT generators, ACMV, CRAC units, chillers, and fire protection systems
  • Troubleshoot critical facility systems hands-on


Command Centre and Monitoring

  • Oversee Building Management System monitoring
  • Manage incident escalation, root cause analysis, reporting, and closure
  • Handle work order management


Change and Engineering Procedures

  • Implement Change Control processes including MOPs, Work Method Statements, and LOTO requirements
  • Ensure all MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs are current and understood by the team


Compliance and Safety

  • Maintain full compliance with regulatory requirements, licences, and certifications
  • Partner with the EHS Manager to identify and resolve safety hazards


Maintenance and Asset Management

  • Develop and manage annual preventive maintenance and capital plans
  • Plan for infrastructure upgrades and equipment replacement


Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain operational records, building drawings, and single-line diagrams
  • Submit accurate customer reports in line with SLA and Master Services Agreement requirements


Vendor and Stakeholder Management

  • Manage vendor qualification, training, and compliance for critical environment work
  • Communicate effectively with customers, internal teams, and vendors


Team Leadership

  • Lead site engineering teams across workforce planning, performance, coaching, and development

On-Call Requirements

  • Available 24x7 for after-hours, public holiday, and emergency support


What You Need

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering, or equivalent
  • 8 to 12 years of experience in facilities management or mission-critical environments
  • Proven hands-on experience with HT electrical systems, UPS, generators, ACMV/CRAC, and fire protection systems
  • Experience in M&E systems installation, testing, commissioning, and defect management during construction phases
  • Professional certifications in facilities management or data centre operations are an advantage
  • Training in LOTO, Change Management, or EHS practices is a plus
