Our client is a data centre operator with a new facility going live in Taiwan in September. They are hiring an Electrical Subject Matter Expert to support final commissioning and lead electrical operations once the site is live.

The Role

You will serve as the primary technical authority for all critical electrical systems on site. You will support the commissioning team through go-live and then take ownership of day-to-day electrical operations, maintenance, and incident response.

What You Will Do

Critical Electrical Systems

• Own the operation and maintenance of HT switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, DC battery systems, PDUs, HT generators, and automatic transfer switches
• Perform and supervise hands-on troubleshooting of electrical faults and critical system failures
• Support witness testing and commissioning of electrical systems ahead of go-live

Change and Procedure Management

• Execute and review Method of Procedures (MOPs) for all electrical work
• Apply LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) protocols consistently and enforce compliance across vendors and contractors
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of SOPs and EOPs for electrical systems

Incident and Risk Management

• Lead root cause analysis for electrical incidents
• Escalate and document incidents within required timeframes
• Identify electrical safety hazards and implement corrective actions

Maintenance and Asset Management

• Plan and execute preventive maintenance programmes for all electrical assets
• Track asset condition and recommend timely upgrades or replacements

Compliance and Documentation

• Maintain accurate electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and maintenance records
• Ensure all electrical systems meet regulatory and certification requirements in Taiwan

Vendor Management

• Supervise and qualify electrical contractors and vendors working on site
• Ensure all third-party work meets critical environment standards

On-Call Requirements

• Available 24x7 for after-hours, public holiday, and emergency support

What You Need

• Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline
• 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience with critical electrical systems in data centres, industrial facilities, or mission-critical environments
• Strong working knowledge of HT systems, UPS, generators, PDUs, and transfer switches
• Experience in commissioning, testing, and defect management of electrical systems
• Familiarity with LOTO, change control, and SOP/MOP development
• Data centre certifications such as CDCE or equivalent are an advantage
