Project – Lead Site Technician (Senior)

Project Location: Primary location with travel as required

Contract Duration: 15 April 2026 – 30 June 2027

Rotation: 14 days on / 14 days off


Role Objective


The Lead Site Technician (Senior) is responsible for leading offshore Balance of Plant (BOP) and OSS/OFTO maintenance and inspection activities during the construction and pre-divestment phase. The role combines hands-on technical work with day-to-day supervision, planning, and coordination of Site Technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant offshore operations.


Key Responsibilities


Lead and supervise Site Technicians, including rota planning, timesheet approval, and daily task coordination.


Plan and execute daily offshore activities, including preparation and review of RAMS.


Perform inspection, repair, and maintenance of BOP, OSS, and OFTO assets (onshore and offshore).


Act as daily supervisory presence on offshore structures, including toolbox talks, planning meetings, progress reporting, and vessel coordination.


Ensure compliance with client HSE standards, offshore procedures, and statutory requirements.


Support commissioning, snagging, walk-downs, and handover activities as directed by Construction Management.


Technical & Operational Tasks


Operation, inspection, and maintenance of:


Offshore cranes, davit systems, manual hoists


Mechanical OSS systems (non-electrical during construction)


Helideck systems (aviation / temporary navigation), where applicable


Inspection, replacement, and re-certification of:


Fall arrest systems


Statutory and safety-critical items


Damaged offshore components (e.g., gate pins, latches, fittings)


Management of:


Fuel handling and refuelling activities from offshore platforms


Toilets servicing and cleaning via subcontractors


PPE inventory and offshore housekeeping


Assist with:


Mechanical snagging after installation


Vessel loading/unloading and cargo operations


Harbour activities and manual handling tasks (in support of Harbour Site Supervisor)


Cleaning and general upkeep of offshore assets, including:


Offshore structure decks (mould, mildew, bird guano, water removal)


Boat landings and access systems


Additional duties:


Conduct inductions, HSE drills, POB counts, and toolbox talks


Act as HLO or HDA when helicopter operations are planned


Support generator servicing, repair, refuelling, and removal on foundations


Carry out onshore and offshore walk-downs, inspections, and handovers


Mandatory Qualifications & Certifications


Valid offshore safety certifications:


Sea Survival


Working at Heights


First Aid


Fire Awareness


Manual Handling


BOSIET / HUET including CA-EBS


Medical Certificate (including fitness for offshore operations)


Relevant trade qualifications:


Rigger / Banksman / Slinger


Cutting, Grinding, Drilling


Recommended Experience


Minimum 5 years’ relevant offshore experience, preferably in BOP, OSS, or construction-phase operations


Previous experience supervising offshore technicians


Working Conditions


Offshore rotation: 14 days on / 14 days off


Accommodation provided (vessel or project-rented flat)


No travel expenses covered


Role based mainly at primary project location


IT & Equipment Requirements


Consultant must provide own PC and/or smartphone


Devices must support client security and management software


Consultant must allow client IT to manage, restrict, or remove apps/data in line with cybersecurity and GDPR requirements


Upon contract end, all project data must be removed via IT Service Desk


Additional Information


Option to extend: 2 × 5 months


PPE: Client-branded PPE previously provided; consultant to supply own safety boots
