What You'll do 

The Senior Project Engineer shall be a critical role is the successful execution of projects, both PV and storage-integrated for the U.S business. Contributing to and supporting all areas of this company's Technical Team, focusing on projects in early development and pre-construction phases and including ad hoc support to projects in construction.

Duties and Responsibilities

-    Establishing and managing technical requirements in contractual documents for Engineering, Project Management and Construction (EPC) engagements

-    Support the Construction team in EPC selection including contract negotiation

-    Assist the Project Management in the construction of a project in a timely manner by providing necessary engineering support

-    Complete design and submittal reviews and approvals as necessary for projects in development and construction

-    Manage Owner's Engineering as assigned as necessary for Construction team support

-    Conduct site visits as necessary to support Construction team progress and milestone verification with lending parties and 3rd party independent engineers

-    Support the engagement of Independent Engineering firms selected for 3rd party financing of projects for execution

-    Provide technical diligence support for Project Finance

-    Support the business with critical lessons learned to ensure project budgets and expected returns are aligned with current market expectations

-    Develop task management tools to prioritize incoming technical requests from internal teams and provide regular deliverable updates

-    Represent your specialty area at relevant development meetings and delivery meetings 

-    Represent your specialty during relevant third-party stakeholder meetings and events as required

Who we're looking for

Knowledge

-    Codes and Regulations knowledge for solar project construction

-    Engineering experience in utility scale PV plants. 

-    Project Financing Structures and Diligence Requirements

-    Knowledge of Industry main stakeholders (TAs, investors, EPCs, Third Parties lab...)

-    Knowledge of current PV technology on the market and trends of major components and supporting balance of systems

-    Ability to identify key information in project site technical documents

-    Knowledge in EPC cost estimation based on design methodology

Qualifications 

-    Bachelor's degree, ideally Electrical Engineering, from an accredited university required. Other relevant qualifications and supporting experience will be considered

-    CAD software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, among others) experience required

-    Advanced knowledge of simulation software including PVsyst, PVsol, StorageVAT, among others

-    Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% to visit project sites and attend other key meetings as necessary

Experience 

-    Experienced in a similar role with a minimum of 5 years

-    Extensive experience with PV utility-scale design for construction, including high voltage substations and energy storage components

-    Experience with civil design requirements for the development of PV utility-scale projects, including access, site drainage and other hydrology

-    Extensive experience in developing energy resource assessments and identifying key areas of improvement and optimization

-    Experience in solar PV utility-scale construction, including project management support and technical document reviews

Drive continuous improvement with various SCADA Vendors with the goal of our company being the industry leader in SCADA controls. Areas of continuous improvement include designing controls per industry recommendations/guidelines (NERC IBR Guidelines, IEEE 2800, lessons learned from Projects, etc) Develop and document company Standards for SCADA Controls and develop SCADA Controls philosophy documents Review and oversee HMI build-out to ensure all applicable pages are available in the HMI, all equipment and associated operations parameters are displayed in a logical/functional way, HMI controls are intuitive, and HMI is consistent amongst projects. Where multiple SCADA Vendors are involved in a project, coordinate various Vendors to ensure all control requirements are accounted for in the HMI. Drive commissioning controls testing and create/obtain documentation showing completion of testing, any required corrective actions, and company final acceptance of test results Review, provide feedback, and act as approver for contractor project deliverable items including: Control test plan/procedure, Controls Narrative, SCADA PPC/MPPC testing reports, and others as required by the SCADA Project Engineer Provide input to project metering design to ensure controls are coordinated with project metering.

 This is the expert level of the Project Controls classification hierarchy. Workers at this level lead the development of the reporting systems for project controls assignments. They perform complex aspects of individual scheduling, change documentation and cost control while reporting up to program or portfolio level as well as trains and teaches other members of PC organization with minimal oversight and wide latitude for unreviewed work. They are also expected to have advanced skills using primavera (p6) and have the ability to work independently. This position typically is assigned to high volume of White projects classified per the Project Management Center of Excellence Project Profile Matrix which typically range from $100M to greater than $500M with a high level of complexity. Must have experience leading schedule review meetings and work with the project team to obtain information to build / update the project schedule. The Principal Project Controls Specialist may have relationships with individuals of varying levels in various organizations. Project teams of external Suppliers/Vendors.Required Qualifications:- Graduation from a four-year college or university - business, finance, project management, engineering, technical, or equivalent.- Minimum of 7 years of project controls scheduling experience using primavera (P6).- Minimum of 11 years of project controls scheduling experience using primavera (P6) in lieu of a degree.- Expert in project controls principles.- Expertise / Mastery with project management / project controls concepts / computer applications / analytics; employee development; strong collaborative team member; oversight.Preferred Qualifications:- Masters - business, finance, project management, or equivalent. PMI or AACE certification (the following or equivalent are acceptable - PMP, CAPM, PMI-SP, AACE-CCC, AACE-PSP, AACE-CEP, AACE-EVP).- Demonstrated proficiency using Software such as MS Office Suite, Primavera, Business Objects, Prolog, Passport, Visio, Powerplant, Maximo, PeopleSoft. Risk management tools / Monte Carlo analysis.- This role is for a Senior Project Scheduler who must have demonstrated hands on experience using primavera (p6) as the scheduling software.
