Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Project Manager to join our growing team in Tokyo, overseeing mission critical or data center construction and infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for someone with at least 4 years of project management experience in a technically complex environment and fluent in both Japanese and English. The successful candidate will play a key role in planning, executing, and delivering high-performance infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end project lifecycle from planning, design coordination, procurement, construction, to commissioning and closeout.
Lead cross-functional teams, ensuring effective communication between local Japanese stakeholders and global project contributors.
Coordinate with vendors, contractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met.
Ensure compliance with local building codes, health & safety standards, and client-specific data center or mission critical specifications.
Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
Identify and mitigate project risks through effective problem-solving and decision-making.
Prepare and present project updates and reports to senior management and clients in both Japanese and English.
Maintain strong client relationships through regular meetings, transparent communication, and proactive issue resolution.
Qualifications:
Minimum 4 years of project management experience in data centers, mission critical environments, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
Bilingual proficiency in Japanese and English is essential (both written and spoken).
Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, etc.).
Experience with local regulatory requirements and working with Japanese contractors and consultants.
PMP or other project management certifications is a plus.
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
