This is an opportunity for a leading client within the renewables sector as a cable engineer. This client has been a leader within the renewables sector for 15+ years and has a significant role particularly within the European market. Therefore, they are looking for some of the strongest professionals in the industry to help them continue their upward trajectory as industry leaders.

 

Job description:

-Role: Cable engineer

-Start date: ASAP.

-Rate: £550 per day.

-Duration: 12 months

-Location: UK, US, EU, Denmark and locations to be confirmed by the project, with the base of the London office. This role would be flexible working from home however you must be available in the London office when it is required by the project team.

 

Responsibilities:

-Participate in project team meetings and cross discipline cooperation (Interface Management)

-Ensure that the technical solution is fit for purpose

- Ensure compliancy to technical requirements and internal/international standards

- Ensure that project specific requirements and interface agreement are adhered to

-Responsible for technical inputs to Change Requests, Variation orders and claims

-Responsible for the ITP

-Responsible for witnessing tests

-Responsible for the revision of the RAMS

-Provide inputs to the project risk register related to the scope

 

Requirements:

-BSc Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional experience

-Minimum 3 years of practical as well as theoretical experience within high voltage export cables, array cables and accessories

-Possesses the skills of a good project engineer (technically skilled, integrity, communication, adaptability, teamwork and decision-making)

-Experiences in high voltage export cables and array cables covering cable supply including engineering/design, cable manufacturing, termination and testing for offshore and onshore including landfall/termination joint bay will be positively evaluated

The client is one of Europe's most experienced wind energy developers and has successfully developed renewables projects with over 3,500MW of rated capacity to date.  Specific Responsbilities: To work closely connected both with the project development teams in Ireland and Germany·        Interacting with grid regulation authorities and grid operators in their role as project stakeholders.·        Providing input for Pre-feasibility studies and technical risk assessment.·        Developing and optimising grid connection solutions for wind, solar and energy storage projects.·        Seeking alternative network access solutions based on grid studies, including technical, legal and commercial evaluations.·        Representing the client on industry grid policy committees / working groups, applying learnings from these forums and providing regulatory advice to the strategic aims of the company in both jurisdictions.·        Preparing grid applications and managing the grid application process.·        Supporting project tendering and acquisition processes by creating technical documents and checking documents issued by others. To work closely connected both with the project execution teams in Dublin and Wiesbaden offices·        Preparing requests for quotation for engineering, construction, procurement and testing of the electrical balance of plant for renewable and / or sustainable energy projects.·        Creating, checking and or reviewing technical documents according to our company wide workflow procedure.·        Preparing inspection and test plans and supervising construction work.·        Controlling electrical project construction costs and project variations.·        Carrying out tasks / projects assigned by the Electrical Department in Germany and other ad hoc projects as required by the Director of the Dublin office.
