Essential Functions:

  1. Design electrical infrastructure for photovoltaic systems, incorporating electrical engineering knowledge, solar photovoltaic system design principles, and industry best practices.
  2. Develop construction documents based on customer requirements, engineering decision-making, and compliance with NEC and CEC codes.
  3. Address comments from the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) during the permit review process, following company SOPs, to facilitate timely issuance of building permits.
  4. Conduct technical reviews of system components and ancillary devices to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  5. Provide prompt responses to Requests for Information (RFI) from field installation personnel, in accordance with company SOPs.
  6. Review testing data from internal field personnel and third-party testing agencies to ensure product quality.
  7. Provide engineering guidance and internal training to the company upon request.
  8. Support other departments with electrical questions and problem-solving throughout the construction process.
  9. Perform other assigned duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience: Required:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • 1-3 years of design or engineering experience related to renewable energy.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Knowledge of photovoltaic systems, NEC requirements, and construction practices.
  • Effective prioritization and task execution in a high-pressure environment.
  • Willingness to learn and apply new technologies.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in PVSyst.
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • EIT Certification.
