Power Systems Stability and Steady-State Engineer

We are seeking a talented and experienced Power Systems Stability and Steady-State Engineer to join our team. As a Power Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing and enhancing the stability and steady-state performance of our power systems. The ideal candidate should possess significant experience in both stability and steady-state as they relate to power systems.

Responsibilities:

· Perform comprehensive stability analysis of power systems, including transient stability, voltage stability, and small signal stability assessments.

· Conduct steady-state analysis, load flow studies, and power flow simulations to evaluate the performance of the power system under various operating conditions.

· Identify potential stability and steady-state issues and provide recommendations for system improvements, control strategies, and operational enhancements.

· Collaborate with the planning and operations teams to assess the impact of system changes, such as generation additions, load variations, and network expansions on stability and steady-state performance.

· Utilize advanced stability and steady-state analysis software and tools to model and simulate complex power system networks accurately.

· Investigate and troubleshoot stability and steady-state-related events, working closely with field personnel and control center operators.

· Develop and implement stability control schemes, as well as steady-state control algorithms, to improve the overall dynamic and steady-state performance of the power system.

· Stay updated with industry standards, emerging trends, and best practices related to power systems stability and steady-state analysis.

· Participate in the testing and commissioning of new power system equipment and control systems to verify their stability and steady-state performance.

· Prepare technical reports and documentation, presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. A master's degree in Power Systems or a relevant discipline is preferred.

· Extensive experience in stability and steady-state analysis as they relate to power systems, including transient stability, voltage stability, small signal stability, and power flow studies.

· Proficiency in using industry-standard stability and steady-state analysis software such as PSS/E, PSCAD, PowerWorld, or DIgSILENT PowerFactory.

· Strong understanding of power system dynamics, control systems, and protective relaying.

· Familiarity with grid codes, regulations, and standards related to power systems stability and steady-state analysis.

· Experience with dynamic modeling and simulation of power system components like generators, FACTS devices, and HVDC systems.

· Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret simulation results and propose effective solutions.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

· Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within defined timelines.

· Professional engineering license or willingness to obtain one is a plus.

Join our team and contribute your expertise in both stability and steady-state analysis to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of our power systems. If you are passionate about power systems and possess the required experience, we encourage you to apply for this challenging opportunity.
